A chemical gas explosion that has occurred in 2018 affected the whole human race. It was the start of a new era where "Specs" came into the world. This explosion or as they called it, "The Booming of the Specs." Made people grow special powers and abilities. Two twin siblings were born during the explosion and it had a huge impact on the two. The explosion had affected them, creating them to become Specs. Eighteen years later in 2035, the government is still trying to track down every Spec that is left in human society and destroy their kind.
