"I can consider your request," he finally replied, causing her face to light up with hope. The weight of her desperation seemed to lift momentarily, replaced by a glimmer of possibility. But then, Kabir paused, making her heart sink.

"On one condition," he added, his voice low and serious. The room suddenly felt suffocating, as if the air had been sucked out, leaving only tension and uncertainty.

"Finish what we started the other day." His words hung in the air, heavy with unspoken desires and unfinished business. Kiara furrowed her brows, confusion evident on her face.

"What do you mean?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly. Her mind raced, desperately trying to piece together the fragments of their shared history.

Kabir leaned in closer, whispering into her ear. "Spend the night here,"

he said, his words sending a shockwave through her body. Her eyes widened in disbelief, unable to digest what she was hearing. The room seemed to spin, blurring the boundaries between reality and fantasy. She had never expected this twist in their complicated relationship.

Then she remembered a few months ago, during a moment of vulnerability, they had shared a passionate kiss. It had been a fleeting moment, a stolen connection that had left her breathless and yearning for more. She had come to Kabir to mend things between him and her best friend, Maya, but now he was suggesting something completely unexpected.

Her mind raced, torn between the fear of crossing boundaries and the intoxicating allure of the unknown. Should she give in to her desires, risking everything she held dear? Or should she walk away, preserving the fragile equilibrium of their lives?

previously known as "AFSAANE" "Let me get this straight," Danish's voice is sharp, his disbelief barely masked. "You want me to pretend to be in love with you?" Kiara tilts her head, the ghost of a smirk playing on her lips. "No, Malhotra. I want you to pretend you never stopped." For as long as Kiara Oberoi could remember, life had been a race she was never allowed to lose. And standing in her way at every turn? Danish Malhotra. Her biggest rival. Her greatest weakness. The boy who knew exactly how to ruin her. They spent their years locked in battle-academic rankings, debate championships, internships, and scholarships-neither willing to give the other an inch. They fought in front of the whole world. They fought when no one was watching. And somewhere in between all those fights, between the sharp words and long stares- they fell. It started with a project that forced them together. Forced them to see past the rivalry, past the competition, past the carefully built walls. Forced them to face the fact that they understood each other in ways no one else ever had. They fought for years-until one night, she gave him everything. And the next day? She destroyed him. "I could never love someone who doesn't even know his own origins." And then, she left. No warnings. No explanations. Just silence. Now, she's back. Same fire. Same hunger. Same boy she left behind-only now, he's colder, crueler, untouchable. And this time, they aren't just academic rivals. They're business enemies. And she needs him to fake date her. She isn't leaving without him this time. She says it's to win a war. He knows it's to win him back. But some fires never die- And this time, they might burn for real.

"Mr Mehra you are in no position to interfere in my matters. I could have handled the situation by myself without you getting involved in it. I am confident in my capabilities and I can protect myself without anyone's help. I might be living in your house but it doesn't mean that you have any kind of power over me and you should know that it was never something I ever wanted." I said to the person who was standing in front of me in all his glory. "Mahi even though living in my house was not something you wanted but as now you are, you are my responsibility and I never fail to fulfil any. I absolutely believe in your capabilities but let me make one thing very clear, don't expect me to keep calm when someone is trying to lay a finger on what is mine." Kabir said clenching his jaw and started walking towards where I was sitting. He came closer and his eyes were bored into mine. His intense gaze made it difficult for me to move a bit or speak a word. He leaned closer to me and my breathing became heavier due to our proximity. "Talking about the power, very soon you will know who holds the power, little lady." He whispered into my ear and looked at me with a smirk playing on his lips This person might act almighty and gentle but there is no way in hell that I will allow him to affect me in any possible way, that's what I promised myself but to my utter disappointment I was failing miserably. He was affecting me way too much than I thought and I am not sure If I will be able to avoid this trouble or if I am doomed. What will happen when the two not-so-perfect people will find each other in the most unwanted way? The fate bringing them together is a blessing in disguise or an unfolding disaster?

"I LOVE YOU," I said, beaming as I knelt down. Her eyes widened in surprise, clearly caught off guard. "That's really sweet, but I don't feel the same way about you. You're a great friend, I'm sorry!" she replied, looking directly into my eyes, and it felt as if someone had popped my balloon of love with a pin of friendship. I stared at her in shock, my mouth opening to speak, but no words came out! I struggled to catch my breath and managed to force a smile as I said, "I understand; I won't pressure you to love me back. Thank you so much for everything you've done for me. I truly cherish every moment with you. But... could I please have a hug?" I wrapped my arms around her, a single tear escaping down my cheek, but thankfully she didn't notice. "Happy Birthday," I whispered as I pulled away, watching her leave me behind.
