The Recurring Misfortunes of Lucy

Luciana is picked up from school by her mom one day before the school day is even over. Her mom claims that Luciana's dad threatened to kill her. She takes Luciana to a battered women's shelter with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Luciana refuses to talk to her dad whenever he calls because of what he said he would do to her mom.
