The Woods

Fida Clark knows that the world is cruel; the world is unfair. Every five years, to pay for a crime her village's ancestors committed, a maiden is chosen as a sacrifice. Being the baker's daughter, she has lived a simple life and expects nothing more of it. But when she is chosen as the village's sacrifice and declared a mistake, her world turns upside down. After walking into the Woods and surviving her death sentence, she is thrown into a world of two-faced nobles and back-stabbing Fae. She does not belong, and yet her life now revolves around learning about the Fae and trying to find out why the Woods has not claimed her life. But what happens when a mortal begins to find a home in the land of immortal beings? Getting too comfortable can be a dangerous game, and when she least expects it, her world crumbles yet again. Her life is twisted with truth and lies, and only the race that she fears is able to help her find the truth. Will she inherit the destiny that was hidden from her for so long, or do the stars have other plans that will bring her and her loved ones to ruin?
