When people visit you every single day, it's hard to get lonely. Unless you're a ghost. Actual it gets quite annoying. In fact it's heart breaking when the people you used to love the most look straight through you. It's even worse when they blame you for their broken heart. Because they have no idea I'm dead. Trigger Warning: Contains slightly mature themes (violent and sexual) and swearing. Nothing too detailed but briefly mentioned. Completed on February 18th 2018

There's not a lot that can freak me out in this world. Only large animals with sharp claws, too many people touching me, bullies, hives, horror movies, sitting underneath fans or lights or anything that dangles from a ceiling, glass or wooden bridges, my mother, mosquitoes, public situations, taking a shower with nobody in the house, taking a shower with too many people in the house and crocks. Oh, and zombies. Zombies is definitely on that list. It's almost a shame too, that I have to race through a city packed full of them to find my missing family. Packed full of zombies, by the way, not crocks. (Although I don't know which situation is worse.) Now I have to not only keep my feeble body alive, but also protect (or be protected by) my two best friends in the entire world as we all try to survive in a city packed with the Dead.

I had an ego the size of a planet. At least since I was three, I hid my shyness and general utter misanthropy for the human race under a crappy braggadocio and pomp that would make even the devil blush if I carried through with it into my 20s. Pathetic, really. Then again, at the age of three I still hadn't formulated my personality yet. I didn't even know if I had one, though I did know for one thing that I was an ill-tempered little brat...I didn't know what the future would clasp in its lying, damning claws or what beautiful dead person would catch my eye (was it the other way round? I wasn't sure...). Here's what I can remember up to this point anyway.

The leaves hadn't even turned brown before the first suicide of the year. At St. Briar's University, the stakes are so high that at least one suicide is expected. In a world full of privilege and royalty, poison and snakes, students are expected to remain as close to perfect as possible-or else. One particular suicide sets off a chain reaction of ghostly events in the students' lives, forcing the students to choose between love and survival. Ugly secrets are uncovered and pretty lies are told, weaving a story in which everyone only cares about image, perfection, money, the social hierarchy, and status. Smile and you will be rewarded, lie and you will be praised. the car a person drives, the clothes they wear, the way they speak, act and breathe determines their worth in society-and everyone wants to be worth more than anybody else. >>> ""Somewhere along the long twisted road we fell off the path and spiraled into beautiful madness.."

My hand slaps against my mouth as I try to shut myself up. Don't make too much noise...or he'll hear you. A vehicle's door opens then slams shut. I don't hear footsteps...but as the minutes go by I begin to hear them; the footsteps get louder and louder and louder, matching the sound of my thundering heart. That's when I see his shadow cast over the ditch...over the place where I tried to hide. "Well," he says with a smile in his voice. "I wonder where he could've gone...the footprints stop here...so I wonder if he just...disappeared?" My body begins to tremble. I can feel it now. The pain. I can feel the pain already. He jumps down into the ditch...he stands directly in front of me, with his back facing me. My hand presses harder against my mouth as I try to suppress my whimper, but it's way too late now. But his body tenses up when he hears it. He laughs bitterly as he turns around slowly, and his eyes cut through my camouflage easily. "There you are."

Shit. I hopped on my bike and I started it and I drove off. As I was zooming down the street I saw a wolf in the middle of the road I was going to fast I pressed on my breaks but I wasn't going to stop in time so I swerved off the road. I moved the bike off of me, the wolf slowly came up to me. I thought I was going to die, but I didn't instead it bit my side I screams once it's teeth synced through my skin. What was worse then it stopped I felt his teeth slowly pull out he then ran off I cried in pain I heard my phone go off but I couldn't move nor answer everything was blurred I saw figures through my helmet. I heard cars stopped I saw someone standing over me. He lifted me to sit up but I screamed and cried in pain. He looked at my side and saw the bit then everything went black.
