The Marked

Long ago, their were beings called the Gladors. The Gladors were people with extraordinary magical abilities, though, each person only got one ability. No person had the same ability as another. All Gladors got a bond animal, mythical or realistic. After meeting your bond animal, they got a mark symbolizing your bond animal. Back then, Gladors lived peacefully with humans. But, the humans grew jealous of that power, and wanted it for themselves. The humans started a war with the Gladors, and the humans won. They thought that they had killed all Gladors, but the few that survived had gone into hiding. Now, their are people who's ancestors were the Gladors, and got simple abilities, such as being a little stronger or faster than humans. People did not see these people as a threat, therefore letting them live.
There was a special school for the people that have small abilities, that they could go to if they wanted to master their abilities so their powers are contained. Dakota Williams, who had a small ability went to this school. One day, she was walking back home after classes ended, and she heard something in the bushes. She had gone to see what it was, but nothing was there. She just thought it was her mind playing with her, but she knew something had happened to her that night. Not long after it happened, she started to unlock new abilities. New abilities that no one knew about, and she was getting more than one. Also, what freaked Dakota out the most, was the forming mark of a midnight black dragon, on her right forearm.
