"He's with me," she said with a smirk, still beaming at me. I still couldn't understand what she was saying. She had the most perfect lips, full and colored a very, very hot red. Katrina scowled at her and pouted her lips.
My heart skipped. She was gorgeous, not in the classy sense. Her face was striking, sharp cheekbones, dark eyes, tanned skin, thick brows. When I didn't respond to her, her face scrunched with confusion. I leaned closer to her, taking in her intoxicating presence.
"She's gone, you're safe," she said. "Guess you have to find some way to return the favor."
My voice caught in my throat. I've never been this nervous around someone before. What the hell is wrong with me? I cleared my voice. "Why don't we go somewhere else, Blue?"
Her eyes smiled at me, almost tearing up with laughter. She put her palms on my chest and pushed, "Nice meeting you too, asshole." She waved at me and left me staring like a lost puppy.
Did I just get rejected? The feeling was so unfamiliar that all I could bring myself to do was to stare after her as she disappeared back into the sea of people. What if she got into trouble? What if I never even see her again? I don't even know her name.
This felt like a damn Cinderella moment and I didn't know how to handle it. I mean, nobody runs away from me, right? She was sending all the right signals, funny how I really wanted a challenge tonight and I'm just left here standing like a complete idiot.
