A cold sweat began to break as I found myself leaning on the cold, marble walls of one of the many bathrooms of the capitol. I felt nauseous and faint.
"Katniss? Are you all right?" I heard Peeta whisper from the other side of the door. I could just imagine him leaning on the door, occasionally glancing at the two peacekeepers standing just a few meters away.
"Yeah, I'm just fine," I said as I clenched my teeth, trying to block out the pain in my head.
"Okay, just call me if you need anything..." Peeta replied unsurely, as he began to walk away,
Suddenly, it all just became too overwhelming and I let out a scream of agony.
"Katniss?!" Peeta screamed from the other side of the door. I could faintly hear him and the peacekeepers trying to beat down the doors. I slid down with my back against the wall. The blurred image of Peeta running towards me with the peacekeepers standing by the doors was the last thing I saw of reality.
Or what I believed it was, before I woke up.

When I was eleven. My whole world changed. Katniss' dad died in a mining accident. You think it wouldn't affect me but I loved him just as much as Katniss did. Maybe even more than I loved my own father. I felt bad, that my own dad couldn't compare to Katniss'. He loved me too though. Loved me like his own. The day he died was the first in a long line of times I have ever seen Katniss cry. She never cried before then but she cried a lot after. Katniss' mother was suppose to get a job after his passing, she didn't. They were starving, dying. I decided to help. After school I would drag Katniss into the woods by her feet. We'd never gone in there without her father. It seemed like a scarier place without him. After some time it wasn't so scary. I don't know what made me volunteer for Katniss.
