I could hear the pounding of footsteps around the corner. The faint smell of blood was in the air. My leg was throbbing from where the bullet cut my flesh. Thankfully it didn’t go all the way in my thigh. I sat in the corner of a half broken building with my pistol in hand. My sniper lay without ammo in front of me. I grabbed my dog tag that read Pvt. Sam Jordan. I poked my head out the window still grasping my identity. It was dead silent now and I couldn’t see anything. Then the pounding of footsteps came to the door next to me.
