When she crossed the road, she stopped looking both ways, She stopped wearing her seatbelt in the car and She stopped counting the pills before she took them, She wasn't trying to kill herself but she just stopped caring whether she lived or not. This was Mia. My best friend. After the loss of Ruby's parents, Ruby needed a way to heal but before she could fix the cracks of what her life back home created she was hit with another earthquake that destroyed everything she worked for. Returning home to say a final goodbye to her best friend caused her to run into people she had unfinished business with. With a new life and old problems, who knows what will happen. But one thing she is sure of, she has to face it all without her best friend. Book 2 in Stray Series. I know I'm not worthy of a second chance. I've taken away so many others' second chances. I took their lives in my hands and each time chose mine over theirs. It didn't matter who they were, if they had family, how old they were. I had a job to do. If I heard even a whisper, it was over. I had to. I didn't want to, but I had to. It didn't even matter in the end. She's gone now. I'm all alone. Somehow, for some reason, a second chance was bestowed on me. But I don't want it. I can't have it. And he knows it too. -This story has depictions of violence, SA, depression, panic attacks, gore.
