In the Kingdom of Bilor, the royal family gives birth to beautiful twin girls. The couple decides the girls will both inherit the throne and work together to rule the kingdom. The kingdom is filled with peace and prosperity under the just king and queen. The queen is drawn to a spot in her world where the veil between her world and magic is thin and one of her daughters shares her interest. A while later, the rulers give birth to a son, and not too long after, is when tragedy strikes. A horrible plague ravages the kingdom and after the heirs are able to come back into the land, one sister cannot handle everything and disappears. When she returns to the kingdom her sister painstakingly worked to rebuild possessing powerful magic, the people are eager to place her on the throne beside her sister. Jealousy soon overtakes the twins' love for each other, and it is the other sister's turn to disappear. Some time later war starts between the sisters and the realization of how dangerous it is for one singular person to hold all those powers is made. So the powers are carefully distributed and hidden. But the sisters caused a divide in the kingdom that lasts long after both have passed. Will the new keepers be able to keep the world in balance? And in a world of jealousy, friendship, power, magic, love, and hate which will come out on top?
