The time has come for the next Gathering.
Every ten years, girls that are suspected to have an otherworldly power join the generation bred in the Court to fight into a ranking of strength, ruthlessness and power.
Cecilia Olsen is fifteen years old. She's just another girl until she disappears, never to be seen again--or so they think. Even so, the case gets major attention from the police and soon they find themselves closer than ever to discovering the secret Court.
But what if Cecilia doesn't want to be found?
What if all the police have been working for is pointless?

Isabella Rodriguez is the stubborn and fierce detective with the desire to bring justice to those who have been wronged. Despite the male-dominated field she works in, she quickly rose through the ranks to become the dedicated and ambitious detective she is today. She is an independent and strong 25-year-old with the new mission to hunt down and arrest a high-ranking mafia organisation that has been haunting and terrorizing her town since she was a young girl. However, due to her blind trust in people she can often have a clouded judgement and see the best in the worst kind of people, this is how she stumbles upon the cold and calculating Dante Romano. Oblivious to the fact that Dante is a high-ranking member of the organization she is haunting down, she confides in him throughout the investigation, making his job a whole lot easier. Dante Romano, the 6'5, relentless killer would burn the world down for those he loves. Despite his slight resentment to his parents, he would kill to ensure their safety. Dante knows he must kill his dear Isabella... But that doesn't stop him from getting closer to her. Creating a bond. Trust. Love? Dante chooses to chase the soaring feeling his heart feels whenever he's with his first true love, slowly feeling more guilty of the thought of killing her. As Isabella gets closer to finding the only people he has ever considered as family, the pressure to kill her gets worse. But what will he choose? Love or Duty?
