Rode doesn't care about travelling. He's never wanted to better humanity, or to find vast wealth on unknown planets. But after a particularly bad beating, Rode decides to screw off and leave his shitty dad behind to fend for himself on their tiny home-planet. The only way he can get off the planet is by joining a group of travellers though, and he's always thought that travellers were the most pretentious assholes in the galaxy.

Rode will have to deal with the culture shock of his harsh, old-world experiences clashing with the travellers' more modern community and norms.
