Sitting at the very edge of adolescence, Felicity Rivers, the school's resident screw up, meets the seemingly buoyant Yaris Wasambe, the school's head prefect, on the verge of leaving the school premises at the dawn of their graduation ceremony.
Brought together by their mutual desire to escape the event, the two embark on a five-hour journey of goofing off, all in the while pretending as if their absences won't be noted.
This introspective short story explores the various conventions of two teens from entirely different backgrounds trying to break free from the pre-defined stereotypical lives society has set for them for as long as they can, which is about five hours.

"Your hair is full of snow," He chuckled as he looked at her, reaching out to push a strand of hair behind her ear. Some snow successfully fell off her, but he didn't withdraw his hand. He cupped her cheek, wiping away a few snowflakes from it. She was frozen, staring at him like a deer caught in headlights, her heart pounding in her chest. Then, raising his other hand, he cupped her cheeks fully. His eyes began to trace every inch of her face; her eyes, her cheeks, her nose, before his gaze dropped to her lips. Her heart skipped a beat as she tried to keep herself together. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seventeen-year-old Valentina Barron doesn't have the most ideal home life. Her family has financial problems, her mother is hospitalized, they had to move to a small apartment from their decent-sized family home... You get the point. She thinks life is unfair and horrible. Due to certain conditions, Valentina gets a scholarship at the most prestigious school in her hometown, but it doesn't make things easier, maybe even the opposite. She has to keep her grades high to satisfy her parents while attempting to scrape some money for breakfast since all of it goes to pay rent and hospital bills. Then one day, she has enough and tries to steal from the school's wealthiest girl, Odette Wraith, to make life simpler. It obviously doesn't go according to her plans, and she ends up tangled in some shady answer sheet-selling business at the school, where she meets the bane of her existence, who shows her that life isn't all about sadness; Luca Lennox.

Completed. ☼ " Her denial, that was like a dam holding back a flood of feeling, of sweet relief for desperate soil, holding back a flood it stood no chance against, as yet another crack formed with a strong wave that already knew it had won. On the other side Marley stood, watching her dam's inevitable, impending destruction - fearing, knowing, that quenching her aching thirst would be synonymous with drowning, would be synonymous with coming up for air, would be synonymous with surrendering to a force of nature that was beautiful in all its calm, but terrifying in all its chaos. He absentmindedly tucked a loose flyaway behind her ear. Right then. Another crack in her last line of defence. Another rolling back of a wave, gaining strength, beating against the tired concrete. Another overflow rolling above the wall, droplets racing to sink into her every vulnerable place. Another enigma - still being afraid, while watching the water, and feeling the ache " ☼ Praise for 'Camp Where The Hell Are We?' Marley has inspired me to be more kind, forgiving and mature. Aiden has taught me to look for all the small things. Gabby showed me that real friendship is standing up for the other no matter what. Every book I read is a part of who I am, and this is one of the biggest parts. 16 year old Danae's life is slowly going downhill with trying to get a job and get into college. His mum doesn't make it any easier though. She's hot headed and is always annoyed at Danae because he looks just like his dad, who his mum has just divorced. His best friend Eden is having problems with her boyfriend and Danae slowly develops feelings for her. They hang out and play video games once a week, which is the highlight of his weeks. He doesn't want to jeopardise his friendship by telling Eden he has romantic feelings for her, until he gives in shortly after their shared kiss. Btw I imagine Danae similar to Cole from the Netflix Series: My Life With The Walter Boys. And I imagine Eden to look like a brunette version of Sarah from Outer Banks. Both great shows I recommend.
