Sitting at the very edge of adolescence, Felicity Rivers, the school's resident screw up, meets the seemingly buoyant Yaris Wasambe, the school's head prefect, on the verge of leaving the school premises at the dawn of their graduation ceremony. Brought together by their mutual desire to escape the event, the two embark on a five-hour journey of goofing off, all in the while pretending as if their absences won't be noted. This introspective short story explores the various conventions of two teens from entirely different backgrounds trying to break free from the pre-defined stereotypical lives society has set for them for as long as they can, which is about five hours.
