Holland James is a nineteen year old college student living in Los Angeles, California, where there's no snow, no parents, and lots of sun. Being from a family that surrounds itself in the holiday, Holland has a bit of an aversion towards Christmas; more like he hates it. So when his mother requests that he and his roommate visit for the holiday, secrets are revealed and love is blossomed.

Winter was not the time for everyone. Especially not for Holly, who was snowed in her college building. To her bad luck, she had decided to leave for home on the twenty-first, unlike her friends, when a snowstorm had suddenly hit town. She had cursed mother nature's name. All she had wanted to do was get home as late as possible to shorten the time she would have to spend with her mom and stepdad... but now, she would never get to her destination in time. According to the news, the snowstorm would last days, the consequences might even weeks. And being the only one in her college building could become very lonely... but maybe she wouldn't be as alone as she had expected. As a novelist Tina has no problem creating the trashy love scenes that played out so often in her 'erotic friend fictions' of her teenage years. She knows the formula, the plot, the resolution - guy gets the girl and they ride off into the sunset. Or some variation thereof. Vampire gets the zombie, guy gets the trans girl, whatever - she was no sexuality snob. And romantic Rhode Island provides the perfect backdrop to inspire her scenery. Imagine a Hallmark movie with teenagers (because everyone needs that right now). This will be a short ten-ish chapter book. Two people meet in a math class on their first day of middle school. They become close, but immediately grew apart after they changed seats during the second semester. But that was years ago: they are seniors now. Throughout high school, Samantha has run into many situations where she felt connected to Oliver--ending up with the same locker his sister had, walking past each other everyday in the same spot, having many of the same friends, etc. But Sam had her heart broken one day in sixth grade when she finally realized her feelings for him on the same day that he asked another girl out. Usually, people Carol's age are getting married, buying their first house, getting their first pet, etc. Her younger sister's doing all that. Good for her right? And she's doing it with Carol's ex.
