We build our lives from the different labels we receive. Our first label, often our gender, changes the way we are raised and how we grow. What happens however, when this first label is wrong. What happens when how we have been labeled and raised throughout our whole lives has all been based on a mistake. Read into the life of one teenager who was mislabeled at birth. The issues faced with growing up transgender in a rural community where even being gay is unheard of. The troubles from the worlds uneducated views on top of an already difficult teenage life clash. *** This story may contain emotional trauma and issues of a moderate level that some readers may find disturbing. The story will contain negative views of the transgender, non binary and extended lgbtq+ community. There will also be information regarding current studies on the causes of homosexuality and gender dysphoria that have not been totally confirmed but are some scientific views as of current. This is a work of fiction based on legitimate issues in the lgbtq+ community.

The One

It was only senior year. Four years of my life all about to come to an end for college next year. Had the stereotypical deadbeat father and hardworking mother in a Caribbean household. The bisexual, black girl trying to get through her senior year of high school. I was the girl who knew everyone but had a small group of friends. I was the star track and field runner for the girls' team at school. I hadn't been intimate with anyone in two years. It was going alright until I met you. You popped into my life, made my head spin into a 360, and that's when it all changed. You changed me. And for that, I mostly hate you then appreciate what you did to me. And it's because of you, I'll never be the same towards love again. They say your first love is something you won't ever forget. I won't, especially from the damage you done and continued to do.
