Dissension

Dissension is book two of the Redemption trilogy.

Sometimes Lexi missed her life as a normal girl. Especially now, as she laid on the floor of the cell, imprisoned by her own brother. She could be freed- all she had to do was join him in the darkness, ruling the land of Kapanathy by his side. But Lexi couldn't fathom the idea of using her newfound magic to hurt others, even after a month spent with her hands entwined in chains.

Lexi finds her internal struggle to be just as much of a prison as her physical one. She understands that only she can defeat the king, but knowing that the man she is prophesied to murder is actually her long lost brother makes her question her destiny. Though the king is heartless and inflicts misery on everyone in Kapanathy, Lexi isn't sure she can bring herself to kill him in battle, even if she could master her magic in time.

As if this was difficult enough, Lexi now felt an unfamiliar presence deep within her, something sinister stirring. Now she must learn to control her abilities while suppressing the darkness that threatens to overpower her, before she follows in her family's footsteps.

While Lexi is focused on saving everyone else, she can't help but wonder, who will save her?
