I and my horse Buck have been friends since he was a foal and I was 3. We live in a small town in Michigan, on a ranch with many kids. When an asteroid hits, that was thought to never happen, destroys my home. I am now a refugee with my siblings. Sophia and Abigail who are twins. Matthew who is 14. James who is 2, and my parents who soon die when somebody sneaks into our tent to get some fresh meat (my parents). Who will survive the whole, horrible asteroid?

I never believed it would end like this. I was just watching Netflix when the power went out, then before I knew it everyone was screaming, then the school began to shake and fell to the ground. Only three kids in my entire school were spared, four if you count me. I found a group of people heading to the east coast for a boat trip to a supposed safe haven in India. My brother the 10 year old genius
We're about 4 years apart, he's only 10 years old and still the smartest person I know. I'm 14 years old, and starting my first year of high school. And may I just say, what a great way to start the year off by first having all the parents be abducted by aliens. Compared to the rest of our family it makes me feel stupid, but then compare me to our parents and my IQ goes from stupid to at least average. Our mom is pretty smart, my dad isn't that smart, and sounds like he really only cares about ducks. People make fun of him for being so smart, but I love him, most days anyways. He's my best friend and he says I'm the coolest big sister he's ever had, to be clear I'm the only sister he's ever had. He has one of those space HQs one of those bigger on the inside tiny on the outside, and invents all and everything. Including our dog, I'm allergic to anything that sheds, but have always wanted a pet, so he made me one himself. I just wish he'd ask me first before he tests his experiments on me.
