The year is 3406, New Life Calendar. It's been centuries since The Fae Wars, and the Earth is plunged into another era without electricity. Continents were reshaped, countries fell and Empires rose. Faeries have been enslaved and domesticated, used for their magical abilities and the Elves are in a heated rebellion to free them. She's frail, traumatized and not even a full faerie, but after the discovery of a girl who managed to flee a Ward, two elves take Claire under their wing to see if she's got what it takes to help win against the Rhenas Empire of Men, although easier said than done with corruption, magic, and a darker force at work.

[Warning: This book has both beautiful AND mature and dark themes to it! Not quite Game of Thrones level, but you certainly shall have a fair amount of dread and evil strewn throughout all the happiness I'm going to include. Anything that would be "particularly" dark will be fade-to-black, though.]

With the whole kingdom watching eagerly to see which daughter wins, it is going to be almost impossible for Illyana to change the minds of a nation so that she can sit on the throne. Warning! The ratio of monogamous to polygomist relationships is about 50/50. Harems and reverse harems are equally commonplace. Given the very limited animal resorces they brought with them they used science and magic to splice every animal species with Alari, Dvergr, or Giant DNA creating hybrids named the Animals, Insects, and various marine life. Later they spliced certain tree's DNA into Alfari thereby creating the Arboreals. Even in a fantasy there is oppression, racism, religious anamosity, political corruption, and corporate greed. In the Garden Realm the fantastic is everywhere, and sometimes it's hard to live but brutally easy to die. (Warning: This is an adult fantasy with graphic adult themes and scenes. At least as a slave she has a chance at earning her freedom from a ruling Fae to pardon her. She is also something more which is discovered as she grows up but she must keep it hidden to protect herself. As she masters her skills, she, along with her friends, are given the opportunity to leave and earn her freedom. It's the first step in finding herself and her answers and perhaps it could change her life in ways she couldn't imagine when she was taking everyone's orders in the kitchen. But first she must rescue a prince from a dungeon... (Small warning) Contains suggestions of non consensual sexual relationships of a business kind but no graphic detail.
