Emma Pierce doesn't want to be a superhero. Nonetheless, she was born with special abilities and her mother forces her to become a superhero. She always thought it'd be terrible. That she'd never get to experience normal teenage girl things. Maybe, however, this could be a good thing. Maybe things will work out. Maybe things do get better. But then again, that's just a bunch of maybes.

I shut my locker and started making my way towards my next class . I was already late and the hallway was almost empty . I picked up my pace . Suddenly a loud thump came from behind me and an immense crushing pain seared through my back . I was slammed in the lockers . I closed my eyes from the sudden contact and pain . Opening my eyes I groaned . The breathe left me all at once . He was the one who pushed . His eyes held so many emotions . anger , hatred and betrayal . It pained me to see that I was the cause of them . Suddenly his fist came flying with full force towards my face and my eyes widened at the thought that he was going to hit me . I closed my eyes waiting for the impact but instead of breaking my face he punched the locker inches away from my face putting a dent on it . He smirked at me . All the colors drained from my face . " What did you thought that no one will know who you are ?" The moment the words left from his mouth I stiffened . He knew . Oh my god ! He knew ! His smirk even widened more when he saw the emotion in my eyes . Intense fear . I'm screwed . He pushed me more against the locker . It hurts in my back so much . A tear escaped from my eye and he smiled like he was enjoying it . " I know who you are and I'm going to make it hell for you , Emma." He said while clicking my name . He spoke with so much hatred and anger that it sent fear to the cores of my body . He once again slammed his fist in locker making the dent more visible and walked away leaving me in the fear. .................... Emma Parker , a 17 years old girl . WATTPAD FEATURED STORY: Lara Rogers isn't supposed to be here. She was supposed to die over a year ago from a long-term illness, yet somehow she managed to make a miracle recovery. The only problem is now she has an endless future stretched out in front of her. One that she wasn't expecting, and one that she has no idea what to do with. After she got the positive diagnosis, she moved to the big city where she knows no one to become another anonymous face, but this life isn't making her happy. In fact, she's more miserable than ever. An unexpected night out with a girl that seems to want to be her friend leads to all sorts of new experiences, including one that might even be love... The only problem is Lara has spent so long not knowing who she is, that she doesn't know how to act around all of these new people, and slowly things become increasingly difficult for her. She begins a negative spiral into self-destructive behaviour, sinking deeper and deeper until she isn't sure that she can ever get out. Review: I read this whole book in one night, I just couldn't put it down. So why should you read it? Amazing writing. Emotive story line. Well-rounded and developed characters and an ending that had me smiling with satisfaction while I did a fist bump in the air. - WattMag
