The work of a veterinary technician and a veterinarian are often thankless jobs.  

The veterinary team are tireless advocates for animal health and animal rights.  Many don't realize the heartache that is encountered each day at a veterinary clinic.  The work day is not full of cuddly puppies and warm, fuzzy kittens.  Many days are filled with the reminder that life is short and fragile and nothing should be taken for granted.

This is the story of how one bright-eyed little girl with a desire to save all sick and injured animals grew up and came to learn that not every animal can be saved.  This is the record of one veterinary technician turned veterinary student.
