Versailles, France, March 21th 1771.

This date marks the encounter between two souls who could never be without each other in the court of Versailles.

The declining family of De Rosaire, once dazzling nobility, enters Versailles and becomes part of the entourage that accompanies the king in his daily life. Amongst them a youth, Christian. Refined, mannered, charming shrouded with a cold yet noble aura is the most hated yet admired of Versailles. Discarded son of Marquis De Rosaire, thought of as an illegitimate bastard, despite being hated and looked down upon, everyone ends up awe-struck before his schemes and charm.

The flourishing family of De Montmarset, prestigious and regal, enters Versailles upon the last request of King Louis XV in order to assist the dauphin in his future tedious journey as a monarch. The Marquis of Montmarset is the proud father of France's most beautiful woman, a rose amongst flowers with a golden voice, Angélique. Without equal, graceful and adored, she who must not be sullied is Versailles's or perhaps France's most sought-after marriage partner.

Both met each other as innocent toddlers and are growing together amidst the hidden side of Versailles, amongst schemes, plots and possibly one of France's most memorable event, the Revolution.

In the glittering yet merciless world of the English aristocracy, Evangeline Montague-Pembroke is a woman both admired and condemned. A mulâtresse born into nobility, she has been raised by her uncle, shadowed by past tragedies and bound by duty to restore her family's legacy. As she steps into society as a debutante, her beauty is undeniable-but it is her honeyed skin and foreign features that invite whispers instead of proposals. Despite the murmurs, Evangeline is determined to secure a wealthy and respectable husband, a man who will look beyond the scandal of her birth and help her fulfill her late father's final wish. On the other end of the ballroom, Lawrence Ellsworth, the Duke of Appleton, has no such romantic aspirations. A man of duty and unapologetic indulgence, he prefers his world structured by land, estate, and the occasional company of women who require nothing more than a fleeting night. His mother, however, has different plans-plans that involve a love match for her son. Lawrence at last surrendered to his mother's wishes to see him married , conceding that a refined, porcelain-skinned lady of noble birth and impeccable manners was the final obligation he must fulfill as the Duke of Appleton. But fate is rarely so obedient. As Evangeline and Lawrence cross paths in a world dictated by rules, lineage, and whispered betrayals, they soon realize that neither duty nor reason holds power over the heart. And when hearts begin to beat against the walls of propriety, scandal is never far behind...

COMPLETE "You are... alluring, mademoiselle" he murmured, his voice shaky. "But understand I... I am not accustomed to such liberties." "Why not join us, then? If you are so concerned with the propriety of it all, perhaps you'd prefer to partake... in something a little less restrained." ... Daphne de la Rochefleur was a woman ahead of her time, navigating the rigid conventions of 18th-century French aristocracy with wit, sex-appeal, and an unyielding spirit. Through her defiance, she marries Pierre de Villeroy Count of Fontainebleau , a powerful and enigmatic Count, in a match designed to secure her status after she has been shunned by her family. Their union was marked by scandal, passion, and a struggle for influence in a world where women were expected to remain silent. Daphne's story is one of resilience as she faced the social backlash of her husband's desires... being a cuck for his wife. Through the backlash, Daphne finds herself in a web of courtly rivalries, French Revolution and fights to carve out her own place in high society. Despite being overshadowed by the men who sought to control her fate, she wielded her own form of power-through social maneuvering, intelligence, and the power that is between her legs.
