The floor squeaked as he went up the stairs. I tried holding my breath, making sure that there was no way he could hear me. Although that was a complete fail, I refused to give up. If these were the last moments of my life, I didn't want to be afraid. "Honey... I have a surprise for you," he said in a sinister manner. As soon as his voice hit my ears it was as if spiders were crawling up my back. As I squirmed in the little closet beneath the stairs, I observed that, two feet away outside the door laid a revolver. Gathering a lot of courage, I slowly but cautiously reached out. As I continued extending my arm, there flashed my whole life before my eyes. Suddenly I hear a loud thud. "There you are, I can't believe you really thought you could hide from me my love." Suddenly, there I was in his clench, screaming in pain, as his grip tightened on me, he made sure to display who had the authority. Instantaneously he released me, I leaped and my back hit the wall. The next moment I didn't remember anything. All I knew was that I was lying lifeless on the freezing floor, which glistened with my mahogany blood and tears.
