After years of training, Kim is accepted to join Project Freelancer. She was given the name Kansas and is excelling quickly and is even given the first A.I. Fragment known as Kappa, but before she can bypass Agent Carolina and take lead of the entire squad, she is nearly shot down by the Resistance and captured. Wash and Carolina try and convince the Director to save her but he turns them both down. Months later, Wash runs into Kim but they are on opposite sides. How long can she stand to watch the only friend she had be treated like shit by the same organization that treated her like shit?
