‘Darkness. Darkness is the absence of light, but in her own fantasy world that she had created; darkness was.’
Chased from a party in the early hours of the morning, Lilieth Evans finds herself in a position far from desirable, curled up in a dark alley-way, soaked from the constant rain, and slipping away from the modern world at a rapid pace.
When all is lost, she finds herself in a corrupt community that is claimed to be Heaven by the people she wakes next to in a bland hospital room, and discovers that the after-life may not be the golden gates and paradise she'd always imagined.
In her category, one must kill to survive, figuratively and literally, and with the distraction of not being good enough for the group, this task becomes exceedingly difficult for Lilieth to fulfill.
