"But... I can't. We can't be anymore." Just as he said that a single tear slipped down his cheek. He quickly wiped it away.

"What..? What happened? Did I do something?" We were so happy just now.

"No. You didn't do anything."

"Why?" I dare not let a single tear slide out. I'm not gonna look weak in front of him.

He looked up at the sky for a moment then looked back at me. "I'm... I'm sorry." With that, he turned around and left me standing there. Got in his car and drove away.

"If you asked me three months ago what heartbreak was, I would tell you it's losing somebody close to you due to unspeakable circumstances. But right now, in this moment, I would say it's you. I would say it's the feeling I got in my chest when I realized I was out of time. When I stood in the rain and yelled for you to stay, but all I saw was your back. I would say heartbreak is lying in bed at two in the morning, watching my ceiling fan go around and around, wondering why you couldn't stop to listen. Two seconds. All I needed was two seconds to say the words. All I needed was to seconds for me to tell you I was in love with you. With everything about you. With the way you move, and the feeling of your arms around me. With the feeling of your chest vibrating as you laugh. Heartbreak is falling in love with everything about you, but having the words permanently stuck in my throat." _____ Gracelyn Levinsky grew up with Daniel Grey. I have worked for the past few days, without coming back home. My head is throbbing. My body is craving sleep. I arrive at my apartment and notice it's unlocked. I dismiss it and head to the bedroom. I loosen my tie as I open the door. My bed is occupied. But with two people, instead of one. "Bell?" "John! What are you doing here?" "Zac?" "It's not what you think John. I can explain." "Did you know?" I ask calmly. "I- I" she stutters "Waited for me to be humiliated?" I grit my teeth. "No that's not it. I did know but-" " But never thought you should tell me?!" 22 parts Ongoing Mature

Choosing her cost me everything I'd ever loved... including her. I had everything a guy could ask for, a loving family, the perfect small-town life, and a promising future I had worked hard for. It should have been enough. She was off-limits, my parent's best friend's daughter, practically my sister. I fought my feelings, pretending our soul-deep connection didn't exist. When she confessed she felt the same, I pushed her away, believing our friendship mattered more than temporary infatuation. That she agreed should have come as a relief, but it left me with this void I didn't know how to fill. It's what drove me to the bonfire that night. Right there, with our friends as witnesses, I claimed her. Told her I loved her and made her promises I shouldn't have made. Hours later, it all came crashing down in a whirlwind of fire and ashes. That one split-second choice to go after a girl that wasn't meant for me cost me everything I loved. I never should have crossed that line or given in. It's why she'll forever be my greatest love and deepest regret. This tragic story is the beginning of our end...
