Alice Sparks. A goody two-shoes student council president who has never had a relationship, nothing serious enough to call it that anyway. She also has never had a loyal friend to vent to-except her sister, of course.

In comes delinquent Grant Stevens, who has been to juvie twice and knows each local police officer by name. When a teacher puts them next to each other in class, Grant is determined to change the star student. The question is, will she change him before he has the chance to?

"Please don't let him sit next to me." I mumbled.

"Grant you can sit... next to Ms. Sparks. Yes, it's the front row. I need to keep an eye on you."

"Shit." I swore. There was like, a billion seats behind me. He approached the desk and sat down.

"Hey sunshine, what's your name? No. Wait. I'm gonna call you..." He trailed off and pondered for a few seconds. I stared at him quizzically until he snapped and pointed at me.

"Sugar. I'm gonna call you Sugar."

I let out a long sigh. It's gonna be a long ass year.
