Kasaon Haden has always been in the background, she is a shadow, swiftly moving, silently striking. She is an assassin and the most important part of an assassin is that they are never seen, never heard, like a child.

Kasaon is good, extremely good at what she does but the price is her individuality, she is rarely able to do those things that commoners do. She is always kept locked away so as to protect the one secret that no one can ever discover, her face.

Kasaon is finally offered the opportunity to do what she does best to benefit herself and give herself a name. Only then does she discover how much her pride and need to be seen could damage the delicate balance of the land she lives in and loves.
