"Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly. The moment you're ready to quit is usually the moment right before a miracle happens. Don't give up."
          - Barbara Haines Howett

Mexican-American, antisocial, painter Mariposa Montoya tries to keep her head low during her senior year, with the only intentions of graduating and making it into a prestigious art school.

When someone from her past comes back to school, she begins to relive the haunting memories of her past.

As her problems begin to increase, she begins to isolate from the most important people in her life, giving up on the ideas of happiness, love, and life...

Until she met Oscar Shields.

Oscar is the golden boy of the city. From being the captain of the football team to having the hot looks of a Greek god.

When two opposites meet, it can either be the beginning of something beautiful, or a recipe for disaster.

But through thick and thin, only one thing remains.

Can Oscar save Mariposa?

Can he save her before it's too late?

But Monica McCaslin didn't think she would ever be one of those people, would ever have one of those moments. Brought up in a small suburb, with everything she could ever ask for, there wasn't much left for her to want. Monica's ordinary life was to go as such- follow her high school sweetheart to college, graduate, get married, have two kids; the cookie cutter life. White picket fence included. What she did not expect was to meet a dark-haired stranger sitting all alone on a park bench, at that very same school she was to attend with said future husband. After a brief conversation, just a handful of words between them, Monica decides to go on a cross-country road trip with him; putting her faith and future in the hands of a stranger. Thinking she'd soon regret her decision and the life she left behind, she realizes she doesn't at all. Free of expectation and a future that she thought was set in stone, she begins to find the woman she was truly meant to be. State by state, with each border they cross, Monica liberates her true self. π”Ήπ• π• π•œ βžƒ 𝕠𝕗 βžƒ - β„‚π• π•žπ•‘π•π•–π•₯𝕖 - ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ ✫ ✬ This is a work of fiction. CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. A Rose to Change a Life

"Come here, pretty one. You do not have to be afraid of me." I huddled into a corner, making myself as small as humanly possible. Not everything is as rosy as it seems. Capture. Live. Repeat. When life awakens blocked memories, it's time to face your fears. Elva, a bold witty girl with an affinity for baking, needs a time-out, but what if her current time-out is just the beginning of a new game? In a world full of laughter, love and friends - she starts to question her memory and the persons she used to trust. Unbeknown that the evil past will soon catch up to her... How far will her past interfere with her current life? _______________ I wrote this in 2014, by now I would have done so much different -but still, I wanted to share my beginnings with you! It is written out of Elva's point of view, additionally two other character's train of thoughts are displayed to construct an all-around-insight. In general, it is a trip through one's owns memories, broken only by Elva's experiences and told in a refreshing mix of humor and reality. (and many cliches)
