Once upon a time, on an island off the coast of the Land of Im, there lived a thirteen year old girl named Clary. She wanted nothing more than to stay on her family's farm, but when the sun doesn't rise after the Winter Solstice it is up to her to quest across the Faelands to restore the Sun Stone to the Solar Fae and bring light back into the world. Travelling with her is a magical Nutcracker, and together they meet both Royal and Solitary Fae Reindeer's, Polar Bears, Snow Maidens, Dwarves and Trolls who help and hinder them on their journey to the palace of the Winter King. 

Once Upon a Midwinter's Night is a retelling of The Nutcracker, The Snow Queen and East of the Sun West of the Moon set in a magical world of faeries, sprites and other magical creatures.
