Alexander silently waited by Thomas's locker, arms crossed. It isn't his fault that he and Thomas were paired together for a debate assignment. Mr. Washington probably just wanted to see Alexander suffer. AND, doing this assignment means that it gives Thomas more time to tease him. Alexander's crush on Thomas was probably the most childish thing in the world, but Thomas just teases him about it, and it is the worst thing ever! The older boy even groped him earlier that day! Alexander clicked back into reality as Thomas started to walk towards his locker.
