I am a killing machine.

I haven't always been this way. I used to be the little girl who always wore a smile. The one who fed the homeless puppies. The one who was always seen running around town chasing her brother. If anyone asked you about me, you would respond with "Burelle Seben? She's the sweetest little girl you'll ever meet."

But then my world got torched...literally. The Royal Family burnt down my house, trapping my family inside it. Their reason? Some kind of treason that didn't exist. I was supposed to be in that fire...I was supposed to die too, but I survived.

I survived and I joined an uprising group. They taught me how to kill without mercy. And I can execute it as easily as I can breathe.

I'm their new assassin and my job is to kill the Royal Family, every last one of them. A job I take gladly, with a smile on my face.

So just know that I'm on the prowl, and if you ever see me? Run the other way. Because anyone who gets in my way won't even have a second to rethink it.

Oh yes, I'm feeling good.

"Do you remember calling me 'mate?'" he asked softly, pushing her wild curls away from her face. She blushed deeply, but he wouldn't let her look away. "You heard that?" He nodded with a smile. "It was the first thought she ever shared with me." Skylar pursed her lips. "She likes you very much." "What about you?" he teased gently. "How do you feel about me?" She set her jaw and once again managed to look down her nose at him while staring up at him. "Well... well, I'm rather fond of you, Orion." He let out a relieved laugh and pulled her into his chest again. "What a relief. I was worried it was just me." He nuzzled her temple, inhaling deeply, his dragon fully at peace. The words "I love you" were right on the tip of his tongue, but he knew it was too soon for that. He would have to hold them in just a little while longer. "I'm fond of you, too," he whispered in her ear. <><><><><><><><> Skylar lived her life in fear. Fear of exposure, fear of herself, and fear of her future. Have you ever had one of those terrible yet annoyingly pivotal moments? You know, that monumental fragment of time that flips everything you have ever known. That plot twist second that completely takes you by surprise. The one just before the storm hits and everything goes to hell. Yes? Because you see, that moment happens to be my whole damn life. It wasn't always like this though. I used to have a pretty mundane existence, happy to just get good grades and be around my friends. God I wish I could get that simplicity back, I'd never complain it was boring again. But I know I'm not going to ever get back my old life because well... I died. (Kinda) But I woke up. And I was thrilled, beyond grateful I wasn't dead. But then I realized that there was one minor detail that had changed about my reality. I was given the chance to live but it turns out I woke up as the villainess in an otome game my friend used to be obsessed with - Kingdom of freaking Hearts (I added the freaking in there for effect, it's just Kingdom of Hearts) Where, for the record, the villainess only has two possible endings 1) execution and 2) getting exiled. So Fate was like, "Don't worry, I'll save you. Here's a chance to live" and then was like "psyche, screw you. You're still going to die but I'll let you suffer a little first." So now, if only to annoy Fate by proving it wrong, I am determined to survive. I can and I will if I play by these simple rules: 1) Befriend Heroin 2) Avoid Aryn Edwards at All Costs as well as other capture targets And 3) Be the top student at the academy and become an invaluable asset to my Kingdom so I become indispensable, thus unkillable. I'm determined, stubborn, persistent and I will live passed 16. Fate made a big mistake setting me up to die. Since it threw this plot twist at me, I figure I'll return the favor. I'll be the biggest plot twist Fate never saw coming...

He seen her from afar a few weeks back. Just for a second. We were in such a hurry in our Village that he never got the chance to talk to her. He never got the chance to know her. I however, was cursed with a mate that betrayed me before I even knew who she was. I never got the chance to know her either. Once I heard her talking about ending our family. The thought of a mate I had went out into the forest. My mother. My fathers. My brothers. My sisters. Harlee! Who could do harm to her? She's just sweet and innocent. She's my baby sister. To my friends. It was her or all of them. I picked them. I would rather have her blood on my hands than have the entire pack. The entire clan. My entire family's blood on my hands. So I killed her without a second glance. I killed her with no emotions. After that night. I changed and it wasn't for the best. I changed and became colder. If I get a second mate, if she blesses me, I will reject her. When "Mate" escaped my lips I nearly died. Fuck. Why did she have to show up now? Why couldn't I have been blessed being mateless. Or will this lilac haired cherry blossom eyed mate when over my icy cold heart?

(Used to be Burning) If someone had told me that three years after my best friend went missing, I would be the one to stop the impending doom of the human race, just to bring them down myself, I would have called you crazy. But now, it seems I have a newer and crazier reality- One where a couple of teens can pose a threat to the most prominent organization in the world, the truth can change at the flick of a wrist, and everything can mean nothing at all. All while the universe herself is the only thing in control. -------- So.... I don't like this, so I'm starting over. Victoria just seems so bland, and she's not at all how I wanted her to be. So I'm starting again. I won't share the new version probably until next year when I have at least like 30k done. Until then, this is remaining forever incomplete. Sorry.
