"So you're saying that the gas has caused our D.N.A to mutate and change?" questioned Lauren.

"Yes"

"So...are we...still human?"

"No." he paused for a second to study their shocked faces.

"You're Superhuman."

Scientists are on the verge of creating a new and renewable energy source, however there is only one downside. If this newly created gas comes into contact with oxygen then it instantly turns poisonous. Four scientist find this out the hard way as an experiment goes wrong and they become exposed to the deadly gas. However they do not die, in fact the gas changes them and they all end up with 'Super Powers'. While some call them Gods, other call them Abominations. Follow Shaun, Lauren, Chas and Archie in a story full of laughter, love and tears as they find out that it isn't that half bad being a Freak.

What does spoiled milk and superpowers have in common Absolutely nothing. Of course, that's not what young Desmond Reid thought when his mother sent him on an errand one afternoon to receive some milk from a local grocery store. Upon his return home, and after having a glass, Desmond ends up having a seizure on the kitchen floor and blacks out. When he wakes up, he discovers he's been transmitted to a hospital and it's been two weeks since his little episode. Upon his return to reality, however, things change. Desmond Reid's ordinary life changes one morning when he wakes up and discovers his body levitating above his bed. Ever since then, the 17-year-old, high school senior has been getting extreme migraines and constant nosebleeds. After a trip to the doctor's office, young Desmond is told he is suffering from the changes of puberty, which, of course, Desmond finds extremely hard to believe-especially when he manages to stop an oncoming bus. It's then Desmond gets the idea that he could have superpowers, and after an intense amount of research, he learns he has the gift of telekinesis-the ability to lift or move objects with the power of one's mind. This convinces Desmond to take up the mantle of a superhero. After spending weeks training to harness abilities, not to mention going about his normal school life, and buying a costume online, Desmond thinks he's ready to hit the streets. However, his first night on the job as a superhero doesn't go as planned and as time goes by, he begins to question whether or not his powers are a gift, or a terrible curse. Things seem to go from bad to worse when men in black suits start following Desmond and his mother ends up being kidnapped by a man named Augustine, who claims to want Desmond's blood to rid the world of disease. Desmond must use his new found powers if he's to escape from Augustine's wrath and save his mother's life.

(book 1 of 'Superhero Series') My name is Niall Horan and I'm in the biggest boy band in the world. I love what I do and I'm glad I got to do it with my best friends - Liam, Harry, Louis and Zayn - we basically take over the world with our music. I had a pretty normal life, or at least as normal as possible for a pop star. Until everything changed. That one day changed it all, the day that turned my world upside down. Literally. That day that changed me completely. I'm not even sure if I'm human anymore. Everything I can do now is not normal anymore and not possible for humans, it's like I live in a movie. But it's real, everything is real. I have powers, powers that go your imagination above. I wasn't born like this, they suddenly where there. I don't know why I got them, but I'm sure there's a reason for, for everything is a reason, right? The lads don't have powers, I'm the only one. Why did it choose me out of all people in this world? What will my friends think when they find out? And what about the fans and the media? Probably I will never know. And then to think that everything started with a lucky charm I found on the streets. It was like it was calling me, I just had to pick it up. And look what happens now with me?
