Joannie travels from her lovely little town in Quebec all the way to Canada's capital to live with her Aunt after her mother's death. She gets positively involved with the RCMP, a police force that trains horses. There, she meets Jeremiah who becomes her best friend, and helps the officers train a troubled horse who just needs a little love, which she can relate to on so many levels. But when disaster strikes, Joannie develops PTSD- and becomes afraid of many things. She leans on Jeremiah for support to help her physical and mental health, as well as regain her confidence to be around horses and school.
