For Derek had been captured, hidden away from the happenings of Condor and the rest of the world. He had been hidden for more than three years. Ciri was told from Derek, back when the Darkness had been ridden, that he was going to Marakkana, an island city south of Condor - a home to many elves. The arrival of Quinlan and the update on Derek was news to her, bad news.
