Sebastian must be sick.
He's been healthy as a horse since the day he was born, but sickness is the only possible explanation for his headache and stomach pains and random emotional outbursts.
There's no other possible explanation for his symptoms. He's sure of it. Sebastian is a happy person. He always has been. He's charismatic, charming, and talented. He has a band, and a wonderful sister, and the greatest best friend he could ever ask for.
But as Sebastian's best friend seems to be falling in love right before his eyes, and his sisters constant meddling making everything worse, and the thrill of consensual non-monogamous sex not enough to take the edge off....
He has to have cancer or a tumor or another debilitating medical condition. There has to be something biological making his heart hurt this way. Thats the only logical explanation as to why he's becoming someone he can't even recognize.
Sebastian has to be sick, he concludes, even though he's never been sick before. After all, his heart feels like it's breaking. That's not a natural thing for him because, unfortunately for Sebastian, he's never been in love before either.
