Ever since her 13th birthday, when she was revealed to be an omega, Kirstin Maldonado's life has been a living hell. Her parents, siblings and pack constantly abuse and ridicule her. At school, she's continuously bullied or ignored by the other students. As a result, she's grown to be extremely shy, timid and self-conscious of herself. Her only form of solstice is the group of friends she has. Unfortunately, to make matters worse, Kirstie's parents are planning to give her away, when she turns 18, to a cruel and merciless alpha in exchange for an alliance. She's convinced her life will be forever miserable until a new student transfers to the school.

Emmett Culmer is the strongest werewolf in existence and the future alpha of one of the largest packs in the world. Usually, he's kind, compassionate, selfless and loyal to those he cares about, and possesses a strong moral compass. At the same time, he has a short, fiery temper, which has gotten him into many fights and his anger can sometimes prove deadly. Emmett gets especially violent when it comes to those he cares about. In combat. he's a brute: vicious, merciless and sadistic to the point where he enjoys his enemies' torment. After getting kicked out of his old school for this reason, he's transferred to somewhere new. Maybe a change of environment will prove beneficial to him.
