Four hundred years after The Great Destruction, civilization began to reconstruct. The Inner Ring enacted the Safe Haven Act in order to protect the children of the future, but with the lawless streets under no control, they had to take the risks necessary for a prosperuous future. The cities were perilous, for powerful people took them under their control. The woods were dangerous, for ravenous, desperate men inhabited them. Everyman cared for his own life. People joined together to build their own cities; each under their despotic protocol. Eden became the first controlled city with independent living. The place where every free man wanted to be. Ivan desired Eden. He walked everyday to arrive. He killed every man to arrive. He survived everyday to arrive. Until Lily. Lily wasn't like everyman; her ambiguity surprised Ivan. Ivan learned to question everything even the reality of Eden.
