My submission for the National Geographic contest #planetorplastic.Living in a island myself, I have seen the impact that pollution has on the sea, the beaches, and the marine wildlife.
Walking on the beach and having to avoid stepping in straws, beer cans, and plastic bags is scandalous.

▪this story is about a near future where beaches filled with trash have become wastelands so toxic that humans have to wear hazmat suits. However, a survivor is found and with it hope for our planet.

▪ The reason I think this contest is so noteworthy is because raising awareness is the most essential thing in a movement.
And this movement might be the most important ever.
This is about fighting against the destruction of our home. Earth.
This is about fighting for the future of this planet. OUR future.
