The government has learned of the existence of vampires. There are different types of vampires. For vampires, the order from strongest to weakest is: 

First generation (the highest level of vampire. Their offspring are terrifyingly powerful form birth, but it is extremely difficult for them to reproduce.) 

Original ( the direct offspring of a first generation vampire. They have the unique ability to reproduce with either gender because of their lack of numbers. Same sex couples with children aren't uncommon amongst them.) 

Royal (the later descendents of an original vampire that had offspring with a Pure Blood or half breed.) 

Pure Blood (a normal vampire.) 

Half Breed (a mix between a vampire and any other species.) 

Turned (the result of a vampire turning a human. They are often servants or lovers.) 

  So, what happens when the government catches an original and decides to make fake vampires? well, a few hundred orphans off the street go missing, a few people die, and a lot of wack job scientists with a thirst to watch the world burn go to work.
