Inbetween his relationship with Caroline and Hazel he had another relationship that no one else ever thought would happen. Now it's something barely anyone brings up. He was Isaac's first true love. It's something that Augustus can't remember well, but something Isaac would never forget. There was a few things I was certain of. 1. I wasn't sure if I was straight, though I have a beautiful girlfriend Monica. 2. I am loosing my sight due to cancer. and 3. I am in love with my best-friend Augustus Waters.

It had been less than a year since Hazel had died. It had been just over a year since Augustus had died. That put Isaac at 18, closer to 19. Things hadn't been good. Octaveus was depressed. He knew it, but no one else did. He hid it, just as he hid his scars. He wasn't human either; he hid that too. He hid almost everything about himself from everyone, in order to minimize the ridicule. His mental state, his thoughts, his scars, even his questionable sexuality. But that only fed into his sadness. Drew was insecure. He didn't like standing up for himself in fear of saying something wrong.
