Kai Monroe was born different.
With her dark hair and fiery brown eyes, she was the perfect lady in features.
But as the saying goes, " Don't judge a book by its cover."
And she was a prime example of that for many reasons. She could make a sailor blush with her language, she wasn't well mannered and didn't give a flying fuck about how a woman her age should act. Just to name a few.
She was a firecracker with a silver tongue.
The only two people who could tame her were little Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes. And even then it was a miracle.

Bucky Barnes starts to remember his life before he became the Winter Soldier. After the events of Washington, he had wanted to run away and hide. He knew people would come looking for him, especially Hydra and the Avengers. Hidden away in a remote town, on the outskirts of Maine, Bucky tries to live a simple life without drawing attention to himself. Little does he know, he had been followed. ***** Alexandria (Lexi) Adams, was one of the best shadow agents of SHIELD. She was one that Fury trusted with everything, including her judgement. Fury knew that having the Winter Soldier on their side, would be beneficial, not to mention, it would stop Rogers from turning down missions he was needed on. Lexi follows Barnes from a distance, helping to set him up with a home and job, without him knowing it was her. She had moved in to the apartment across from him, playing the friendly neighbour, which was a feat in itself. Lexi was never considered a friendly type of person. It was her mission, to help keep him safe, recover his past, and obtain any Hydra information. She makes sure to bump into him, while shopping for groceries, introducing herself, but she finds he's very closed off and guarded. Can she get through to him, or will he up and run again? When Hydra operatives come crashing through their complex, Lexi must make the choice, to stand and fight, or run. Will the two work together? She was kidnapped when she was five, experimented on, but she doesn't even know who her kidnappers are, but she's willing to find answers. Before she can, she has to deal with Loki, the god of mischief, who plans to attack New York. She is asked to join a team of misfits and together they become the Avengers, who then become like a family to her. With their help (Y/n) tries to find the organization that kidnapped her all those years ago and get the justice she deserves. This story takes place during the first Avengers movie followed by my own little plot. Also has a lot of swearing. That's when she finds out that her family has been in a Civil War, all because of Bucky. Tony still can't see past the Winter Soldier, but Y/N can't help but see the broken man full of pain and empty of memories. - For the sake of my own sanity in this story Infinity War and Endgame do not happen. Also Pietro didn't die, Asgard did not get blown up and Loki is an Avenger.
