Kai Monroe was born different. 

With her dark hair and fiery brown eyes, she was the perfect lady in features. 

But as the saying goes, " Don't judge a book by its cover."

And she was a prime example of that for many reasons. She could make a sailor blush with her language, she wasn't well mannered and didn't give a flying fuck about how a woman her age should act. Just to name a few.

She was a firecracker with a silver tongue. 

The only two people who could tame her were little Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes. And even then it was a miracle.

He knew people would come looking for him, especially Hydra and the Avengers. Hidden away in a remote town, on the outskirts of Maine, Bucky tries to live a simple life without drawing attention to himself. Little does he know, he had been followed. ***** Alexandria (Lexi) Adams, was one of the best shadow agents of SHIELD. She was one that Fury trusted with everything, including her judgement. Fury knew that having the Winter Soldier on their side, would be beneficial, not to mention, it would stop Rogers from turning down missions he was needed on. Lexi follows Barnes from a distance, helping to set him up with a home and job, without him knowing it was her. She had moved in to the apartment across from him, playing the friendly neighbour, which was a feat in itself. Lexi was never considered a friendly type of person. It was her mission, to help keep him safe, recover his past, and obtain any Hydra information. She makes sure to bump into him, while shopping for groceries, introducing herself, but she finds he's very closed off and guarded. Can she get through to him, or will he up and run again? When Hydra operatives come crashing through their complex, Lexi must make the choice, to stand and fight, or run. Will the two work together?
