It was simple enough, everyone was scared of Queens because that was [Your name]'s turf. And she was most famous for making the Delanceys cry for their mommies. Yeah, if someone did so much as lay a finger on her newsies, let's just say she knew one or two ways to make a body disappear. Needless to say, no newsie was setting a foot in Queens any time soon.
But when push came to shove, someone had to tell them about the strike. And Jack made an offer the boys couldn't refuse. 3 dollars to the brave soul willing to cross the East River.
And those three dollars caused a whole other mess.

"Race, what's goin' on? Where 'ave ya been?" Crutchie asked, eyeing the boy with worry. Race ignored him and continued limping to the stairs. "Race, get back over here. Crutch and I stayed up waitin' for ya, the least you can do is tell us where youse been." "I'm fine," Race mumbled, not stopping. Jack quickly stepped forward and grabbed the younger boy's arm, not missing the way he tensed up. "C'mon Race, look at me. What's wrong?" Race slowly turned around, keeping his eyes down with the brim of his hat casting a shadow across his face. "I just had a run-in with a couple of guys who were lookin' for a fight. I got a little beat up. Really, it's nothin'." "It's not 'nothing' Race. You're walkin' worse than I do!" Crutchie exclaimed. Jack grabbed Race's chin and tipped it up and Crutchie gasped. Jack's eyes widened too as he and Crutchie got a glimpse of their brother's face. Crutchie's face turned red with anger, his hand clenching his crutch tightly. She's the King of New York
Katherine Plumber has been pulled into a large strike in the summer before the turn of the century. See her part of the strike through her eyes as she experiences situations and feelings she never thought she would. The story begins right in between Watch What Happens and King of New York. So about halfway through the musical. This is a complete story with 14 chapters. Update day will be Fridays or Saturdays, if you don't see it on Friday, check again on Saturday. I do not own the Newsies or the characters in it. This is kind of a crossover story, because I mention a character or two from the original movie. Disney owns all of the characters. I used some of the dialogue and that is also not mine. That goes to Disney and Harvey Fierstein. There are some added scenes so this is not your average strike story. The cover art picture is not mine, I found it on the Internet. It is a still from the movie. I slapped the text on it though. As far as OC's go, there is only one and he appears at the very end. I sit down on my bike looking around the school parking lot. Listening to music, I stand up begin to walk through the student-less parking lot. Honestly, it's not like I meant to be late. My music cut out causing me to hear a whistle. I stop in my tracks and pull my headphones down to my neck. Turning around, I seen a group of men with one guy who just smirked at me. "You new here beautiful?" one of the guys asked. "What do you think Einstein?" cocking my brow. "Ohh. Challenging? I like." he says walking towards me, about two inches away. "Really?" biting my lip, as he continued walking towards me. He reaches out and grabs my hip, "Mmhmm," smiling down at me. Swiftly, I grab his hand, turn him around, kick him right above the back of his knee, and pushes down so he's on his knees in front of me in a position of which I could brake his arm, "What a shame, 'cause personally, I don't like fuck boys with various STD'S." I look at all the men in the group who had their jaws dropped, all except for one, "Touch me one more time, and I'll brake your arm in two." I stand and kick his back so he falls on the concert.
