The Games are over and all is quiet again in 12. But Katniss Everdeen - the Mockingjay and the symbol of rebellion- has never felt more alone. She can't go to Haymitch because, well, it's Haymitch. She can't go to her Mother for comfort because it hurts too much. She can't go to Gale, because even though she misses him, she hates him. And the one person who was always the one comforting her, doesn't even remember her anymore. Lost in a world of loneliness and confused in love, Katniss needs to figure out the right path. But it isn't as simple as it seems.
Meanwhile- in the capitol- President Paylor has abolished all the old arenas and is in the process of building memorials. The Hunger Games are officially over. But Plutarch Heavensbee, Paylors new Secretary of cCommunications is building up The Republic, a group of people who are too protect Panems new future, but only who he trusts. He has many people on his mind, one in particular. But secrets unfold and is this person really someone he can trust.
