A Mermaid for the Lonely
A mermaid named Sirène, whose job as a mermaid is to guide those who have died at sea to rest their souls and not be trapped. She typically finds sailors whose ships have sunk, and pirates and convoys alike. Her personality is one of seriousness, and she does not express herself by facial expressions very often. She does sung lovely tunes though, ones of the sea and winds, not ones meant to lure anyone to their doom. She seldom spends time with other merfolk and prefers to be on her own. She is however very curious of the various emotions humans possess and their intensity, since she does not feel these. One day, while Sirène was staying near Pointe de Pen Hir, a dangerous cliffside that plunges right into the ocean. Looking upwards by chance, she saw a human, a man, standing dangerously near the edge of the rocks. The wind blew harshly and she could only watch and wait as he toppled over the edge and feel towards the ocean. She saw no fight in him as he fell. ________________________________________________________________ This is a fantasy story with my mermaid OC that I started making back when I was in middle school. I've used her character to help me through tough times and I am revisiting her. I want to make sure I have a place to remember her story, and make it a happier one than before.Complete

Even when she finally got a proposal from a guy that was once a childhood friend of her brothers, she wasn't convinced that he was the one but she said yes to avoid any more troubles with her mother. Her marriage was not what she had imagined it to be, her husband was a jobless man who lived with his mother. He actually got married to her because he thought she was from a rich family. He wanted a family he could live off. He didn't know that they didn't have all the glitters and riches and they were living in their past glory. He was patient enough with her. He tried all he could to hide his real self. After the birth of her daughter, they left town to make a better life for themselves that was when the real devil in him unleashed. He became unbearable, he beat her, and he sometimes threw her out in the cold and brought different types of women into their home. Even when she tried to develop herself, by venturing into a business, he tried all he could to wash it down the drain. She was torn between staying in the marriage and running away when she lost a pregnancy due to his battering. She wanted to leave because she was scared and she was scared of leaving because of what people would say about a woman leaving her matrimonial home. At this point in her life and for the first time, she was going to make a decision for herself without caring so much about what people would say about her.Complete
