His piercing eyes burned with anger as the flame of ice licked within the innards of his glowing irises. White points shone in his pupils, shining with a white-hot sheen.

Ellie Mitchell studied his lips as he spoke in words that she could not hear. She refused to. They were pinker than usual, unlike his pale skin (they always seemed to match it) which was not even beige. His scent was close to her nose, embracing it gently as he bore down on her. It was thick and rich of some unnamed anomaly, but there was this hint of nicotine ― even though he barely held a cigarette between his lips these days.

His raven curls bounced as yet another accusation to her actions arrived. Face screwed with fury, Sherlock stared her down the barrel.

"Never shoot! Never! Do you ever hear me? I told you not to -" he rasped, the loud voice making her wince for it seemed to be stuck in that one pocket of space. The walls of the flat subdued it to a mere loud bomb, like a firework in a single room with egg cartons to keep the sound from leaking outward into the outer world and into the ears of its bound inhabitants.

Ellie was glad John wasn't here to see this. But, with this thought coming in between Sherlock's shoutings, she was sure he had seen plenty of outbursts like this one.

His pale skin glowed in the moonlit room. No lights were on except for a lamp in the corner, but it was barely needed for the full moon was so bright that it could have been considered unnecessary.

Sherlock went on to explain the finest details of her mistake ― which was usual with the cases that he took her along to.

Normal, she tried to say to herself, but it wasn't working.

♪ First Names are for Lovers ♪ Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, living in a dated, shared flat with bullet holes in the wall, a skull on the mantle, and an absolutely catastrophic kitchen. It wasn't hard to get along, usually. John could handle Sherlock's bluntness and absolute disregard - or lack of knowledge - for people's feelings or sentiment. And Sherlock could handle John's questions about everything he said. John Watson: An army doctor, stationed in Afghanistan, shot in the leg, put out of commission. Psychosomatic limp; magically gone when he went on a case with Sherlock. Sherlock Holmes: High-functioning sociopath, and the only Consulting Detective in the world. He could read people, he could see crimes in the crime-scene; he could win. ♫ ♫ ♫ Sherlock Holmes went off the rails. He did an experiment that got him hospitalized after John found him on the scene. Lines were crossed. Rules were made. Everything was on the line - concentration on cases slowly dwindled, priorities were mixed, and absolutely everything was spinning. ♫ ♫ ♫ Good habits, bad habits, and everything in between. You have good habits, sure, and they have to be balanced out with bad habits. For most people, that's taking your vitamins every day crossed with cracking your knuckles. For Sherlock Holmes that was catching criminals and putting his life at serious risk every time. ♫ ♫ ♫

[Sherlock x Female OC] The thing is, there is an empty, gaping hole at the base of John's throat where his overwhelming guilt and periodic bouts of torturous grief used to be. It would be so easy to... to be angry and punch a hole through the wall, through the foam of his pillow -- drive his fist through Sherlock's heart. But he remembers; in the most tragic and inopportune of fashion, remembers how angry he had been when Sherlock had jumped, how furious he had been at his funeral, and how it hadn't stopped him from breaking down at his grave nonetheless. The thing about his anger is this: it does nothing but leave him behind in the end, a bundle of nerves and frailty in his bones and an unsteady sway to his gait. It does nothing at all, but reduce marginally the constant, suffocating oppressiveness of his days bleeding into one another with a burst of adrenaline. The thing about his anger is this: it doesn't give him back Sherlock. So he gets a new flatmate- a woman named Holland. They were great friends at school and in fear he would be lonely again after Sherlock died he started to meet up with her, and soon, she moved in with him. They're just friends, though. No one could have a bond with John like Sherlock did. Sherlock was his best friend. But then Sherlock returns, and John is more furious than ever at him. Also, Sherlock and Holland seem to bond quite well, which is something Sherlock finds too complicated to explain itself.

" Where are you? " It seemed as though John was talking to no one. Just a man in the middle of the streets yelling like a mad man. Such a great sight. " I've watched you since you were born but it's obvious that you haven't fully grasped that you cannot see me unless I want you to see me. For someone that has a college degree I would expect more from you. " John scoffed at the deep baritone voice insulting him. " For someone that has supposedly watched me my whole life, I would have assumed that you would have some type of sympathy for me. Besides, I've seen you before. You just choose to hide. " " I'm only like this because I know that you can handle it. You've dealt with me for this long and I'm hiding from you to save you. " He was right. John have dealt with him for a long time. But he was tired of not knowing who he truly was. The voice knew everything about John while John knew nothing about him. " Can you at least tell me your real name, S? " The nickname sent shivers down John's spine since he hadn't called the voice that in years. " Wow, you do remember. But the name is Sherlock Holmes. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to being unknown. " John felt a gust of wind hit him which signaled that Sherlock had once again vanished to who knows where. John's guardian angel sure was a charmer. Always knew how to get them. John could say this though. Sherlock Holmes was one angel that intrigued him in ways he didn't know were possible. But he liked it. - In which a guy named John has a guardian angel named Sherlock follow him around for practically his whole life who will help him reach his life goal that everyone needs to complete. The only problem is that John and Sherlock's unique friendship is tested once they both fall in love with each other. - copyright @Panicattheblurry 2018 This story has been marked as completed but it has been discontinued.

And now, sat in the flat looking at the gun in his hands, feeling it jeer at him, his fingers itch. To feel the release as the bullet tore into him. Would he feel the pain? Or would it be too quick? Hovering between life and death was Sherlock's favourite place, and yet he despised it. His fingers curl against the cold metal and he feels his grip tighten on the trigger. Any second now he would give in to temptation, and all that would be left was brain matter splattered up the walls. Basically Sherlock has an obsession with his own death/wants to die but not really. It's really not as dark as it sounds, honestly. There are references to Suicide, not just Reichenbach, so if that's a trigger maybe don't read this.
