Love is one of those things that is not always there when you want it, but it is always on time. Love can never be anticipated. It is a force that comes when you least expect it. 

Raised by a single mother who ith an estranged father and two half-brothers thrown in the mix, Freedom "Free" Calloway's life was one that some may call dysfunctional. Contrary to popular beliefs, Freedom loved her life; that is, until her mother got hit with early Alzheimer's. After graduating high school, Freedom had to forgo college and tend to her mother's every need. This along with her full-time nine-to-five was enough to keep Freedom so preoccupied, she had no time to dwell on normal teenage things. Love being one of them.


Unfortunately, tragedy strikes, causing Freedom to lose her mother in a tragic house fire, which pushed the notion of love aside. All she wanted to do was mourn and move on.  Little did she know, love was exactly what she was going to get.


Raised by a single parent, Prosper "P" Coleman is a college kid who is just going through the motions of life as any other young man would. He didn't think much when asked to accompany his friend to a funeral reception until he met his roommate's sister. At first glance, Prosper was hooked. Freedom was a woman who touched Prosper in a way that no other woman ever had. Love at first sight it seemed for the two young souls. After their first encounter, a beautiful relationship quickly arises.


While all this sounds lovely, what's love without a little jealousy? What happens when old flames refuse to die down? Will this fairytale love last?

I gave the best of myself to someone who didn't have anything to lose. I didn't know how to avoid my lover's toxic and abusive flames. My lover's twisted words were like a maze inside of my head that I couldn't escape. Sadly, my lover's actions hypnotized my thoughts and paralyzed my thinking. I learned the hard way that love isn't leaning in for a kiss, and a fist meets you halfway. Love isn't being a punching bag because someone decided they wanted to beat on you today. Love isn't saying I love you just because someone wants to keep you to themselves. I tried to be there for my lover, but I learned it is impossible to fix the broken pieces when the glass has shattered. There will always be pieces that are not repairable. However, I kept going right back to the person who I needed to walk away from. I was afraid, and I wasn't brave enough to wake up from this nightmare! I made the choice to suffer when life is meant to be lived and enjoyed. Will I find the courage to know my worth and know that I deserve better than the distasteful lies that are whispered in my ears? Will I have the strength to fight my insecurities? Before the fall of Earth humanity built a great colony ship, ten thousand of the colonist left Earth for a hundred year journey to Gillespie. They came from all over the Earth leaving a planet knowing they would never see another in their lifetime. The Ark is a rotating cylinder the size of a large island with its own train system. It's divided into three main sections, the city, the framlands, and the Lowers. The people are divided into three groups as well, Uppers, Middles and Lowers. Uppers are made of elite scientist, Astro-crops, bureaucrats they made up about 3% of the population. The Middles are are the farmers, the guard, teachers, doctors, the food processors, clothes makers and of course the mechanical maintenance workers. They make-up the 97% of the 10,000 counted citizens. The lowers are criminals and children born to un-paired parents. They live separated from the middles and Upper. In lowers you work in water reclamation or in one of the fish farms that supply protein to the ship. In the year 2149 Dylan De Rovia is trying to wrap her head around the idea that in two year's she'll be paired. That they call marriage on the Ark. Pairing is good most who are paired do end-up staying together because while genetics play good part in determining a match so does personality. Some people choose to use spend this time having a good time with as many partners as possible. Dylan however, vowed that she would never fall in love with anyone before pairing. The universe had other plans however, when Dylan learns that she'll pair with an Upper named Kyive Sinclar life gets more complicated than ever. Falling in love is hard enough falling in love in space that the story.
