Auerlia is torn between two worlds-the first being the one she's known since her childhood, the one filled with all her closets friends, who Aurelia admits are a little spoiled and can be ignorant at times, but overall she knows their great people. This world is also the world of her father who although can be distant and close minded at times Auerlia still adores and admires.
The second being the world that contains Diego-who although she's only just met him he manages to understand her on a level that no one else does.He listens to all her problems without ever questioning or judging her.He shows up to support her even when they fight. It's also the world that contains the childhood of Auerlia's mom,who unfournately passed away when Auerlia was young.Auerlia sees hope in this world because she knows she can learn more about her mom through her old friends and her mom's old community.
Aurelia loves both these worlds separately so when she combines them she expects them to be just as great if not better but instead her world turn into one big ugly mess. Her father hates Diego he thinks Diego is going to get her knocked up and then leave her, while her friends think Diego can't be trusted.Diego think's Aurelia's father's too controlling, and their her friends are a bunch of snobs. However everything is still tolerable until one day her father gives her an ultimatum either she stops speaking with Diego or she leaves the family and is never to come back.
