'Strawberry Lip Balm' is a short poem I wrote as a project for my English class during my senior year of high school that I thought was cute enough to post. The assignment was to describe an abstract theme with a concrete noun or description in a single sentence, and to expound on it with five more sentences(each sentence tailored to one of our senses).
The objective of the project is to force us to not only be poetic, but to choose words with a level of strength that we usually wouldn't bother to attempt to reach. It makes the poem powerful, yet concise.
This poem is centered around the abstract theme of love and follows a loose formatting requirement.

Hey everyone! I'm excited to share that I'm working on a love story. Writing has always been a passion of mine, and this story allows me to create a world born from my imagination. The characters are entirely fictional: while I've envisioned the male lead distinctly, the female lead shares some similarities with me. This story revolves around a sweet high school romance between two top students. The male lead is an egoistic character who unexpectedly falls for a girl who often battles self-doubt and has a quick temper. I'm eager to explore how these two meet and develop a beautiful relationship filled with love and friendship, ultimately becoming each other's unrecognized source of support.
