Unforgotten Legacy

'Unforgotten Legacy' is a short poem I wrote as a project for my English class during my senior year of high school that I thought was strong enough to post. The assignment was to describe an abstract theme with a concrete noun or description in a single sentence, and to expound on it with five more sentences(each sentence tailored to one of our senses).
The objective of the project is to force us to not only be poetic, but to choose words with a level of strength that we usually wouldn't bother to attempt to reach. It makes the poem powerful, yet concise.
This poem is centered around the abstract theme of immortality and follows a loose formatting requirement.
